RocketLink review: retargeting pixels on every short link, plans from $19/month with tight link caps, flaky custom-domain SSL, and who should pick Bitly or Rebrandly instead.
Most link shorteners hand you a tidy URL and a click count. RocketLink hands you a URL that drops a retargeting pixel on everyone who taps it. Share a link to your own landing page, or to an article you did not write, and each person who follows it can be swept into a Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn or Google remarketing audience. That is the pitch, and it is what sets RocketLink apart from Bitly or Rebrandly.
The mechanics are the interesting part. RocketLink wraps the destination and fires your ad pixels before the redirect, so a blogger can grow a warm audience from the traffic they send to a review they do not own. A creator can turn one Instagram bio link into lookalike seed data. It is genuinely clever. It is also why the plan limits sting.

There is no free tier. Every plan runs on a 10-day trial, then bills monthly. Prices checked on the RocketLink pricing page in September 2026:
All three include unlimited clicks, click analytics, the Chrome and Firefox extensions, a SocialBee integration, CSV export and, unusually, no forced RocketLink branding on the CTA overlay even on the cheapest plan. RocketLink also says it will build a custom plan on request for higher volumes.
Read the top line again: the $19 plan allows 20 links a month. Not 20 live links, 20 created per month. A retargeting tool wants you making a link for every campaign, every post, every bio update, and Liftoff runs out around the third week. The jump to 100 links is why the $29 Space plan is the real entry point for anyone doing this seriously. Against Bitly, whose paid tiers start higher but count links far more generously, RocketLink's value lives entirely in the pixel; strip that out and the caps look tight.

The link is a canvas. On top of any external URL, RocketLink can layer a CTA banner, an opt-in form, a chat widget, a video embed or your own custom script. It generates a QR code for every link, tags outbound traffic with UTM parameters automatically, and supports password-protected links, vanity slugs, custom 404 redirects and GDPR consent prompts.
For an affiliate or a solo marketer this is the part that earns the subscription. You send someone to a manufacturer's product page and still float your own "Get 10% off" bar over it, still capture the pixel, still measure the click. The 10-day trial is enough to test whether the overlay renders cleanly on the sites you actually share, which is the one thing worth doing before you pay, since some destinations block framing.

RocketLink holds a 4.7 out of 5 across 54 reviews on Capterra, so most users are content. The one- and two-star reviews are consistent about where the cracks are, and they line up with what you would test during a trial.
The biggest is custom-domain SSL. Reviewers report that SSL works on subdomains but not on bare root domains, and that root domains are not really supported at all. If your plan is to brand links on yourbrand.com rather than go.yourbrand.com, verify it before committing, because this is exactly what the custom-domain slots are sold for. Facebook also refuses RocketLink's shortener from time to time, which for a retargeting-first tool aimed at Meta ads is close to a contradiction.
Smaller frustrations recur. The Chrome extension cannot set a custom URL or edit the slug, so power users fall back to the web app. There is no folder or tag system, so once you have made a few hundred links the old ones sink to the bottom of a single feed and get lost. There is no button to reset a click counter. And the multi-client, team-management feature that agencies keep asking for has sat on the roadmap with no ship date.
Support is the sharpest complaint. One Capterra reviewer wrote, "There's nothing called Customer Support at all." Another long-time user said the founders who once answered every question personally stopped replying to essential ones as the company grew. RocketLink is a bootstrapped team from Zywiec, Poland, founded in 2017; that lean setup keeps the product cheap and also explains the thin support.

Buy RocketLink if retargeting is the whole point. If you are a marketer, affiliate or agency who wants an audience out of every link you share, including links to content you do not own, nothing at this price does it as directly, and the CTA overlays are a real bonus. Start on Space at $29/month rather than Liftoff, because the 20-link cap will strangle any active campaign.
Skip it if you mainly need a dependable branded shortener on your own root domain, or if fast support matters to you. For clean custom-domain SSL and steadier uptime, Rebrandly or Bitly are the safer buy, even though neither fires an ad pixel the way this does. And if you only shorten the odd link, a paid plan here is money spent on a feature you will barely touch.
