What is CyberGhost VPN?

CyberGhost VPN is a long-running, beginner-friendly VPN based in Romania — a country with no mandatory data-retention laws. It is best known for operating the largest server network in the industry, with more than 11,000 servers, and for a generous 45-day money-back guarantee that is far longer than the usual 30 days. If you want plenty of choice and a low-risk way to try a VPN, CyberGhost makes it easy.

Beyond the sheer size of its network, CyberGhost stands out for its purpose-built servers: dedicated profiles optimised for specific streaming platforms and for torrenting, so you do not have to guess which server to use.

How does CyberGhost work?

CyberGhost encrypts your connection with AES-256 and tunnels it through one of its thousands of servers, hiding your IP address and shielding your traffic from your ISP and other observers. Its apps organise servers by purpose — streaming, torrenting, gaming — so picking the right one is a single tap rather than a technical decision.

It is a good match if you want to:

• Stream from anywhere: use servers tuned for specific platforms and regions.
• Torrent safely: connect through dedicated P2P-friendly locations.
• Keep it simple: rely on clearly labelled, task-based server lists.
• Try risk-free: take advantage of the 45-day money-back guarantee.

Key features

CyberGhost combines modern protocols with a set of features aimed squarely at everyday users.

• WireGuard and OpenVPN: fast, secure modern protocols, with IKEv2 also available.
• NoSpy servers: servers housed and operated in-house in Romania for extra privacy.
• Streaming servers: profiles optimised for popular services and libraries.
• Torrenting servers: dedicated P2P locations for safer file sharing.
• Ad and tracker blocker: built-in content blocking to clean up your browsing.
• Automatic kill switch: always-on protection that prevents leaks if the VPN drops.

Pricing and plans

CyberGhost is very affordable on its longer terms. A monthly plan carries a premium price, but the multi-year plan drops the monthly cost to among the lowest anywhere and often adds several free months. The standout is the 45-day money-back guarantee on long-term plans — one of the most generous in the industry.

CyberGhost by the numbers

The numbers tell CyberGhost's story: scale and generosity, from its enormous fleet to its long guarantee.

Apps cover Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and even smart TVs and routers, and with WireGuard the speeds are more than enough for HD and 4K streaming.

Pros and cons

CyberGhost's scale and value are its highlights; a lower connection count is the main compromise.

The best price requires committing to a multi-year plan, and it allows 7 simultaneous connections rather than the unlimited some rivals offer — but for most households that is plenty.

Verdict

CyberGhost VPN is an excellent option for streaming fans, torrent users, and anyone who wants a simple, affordable VPN with a huge network to choose from. The task-based servers make it beginner-friendly, and the 45-day money-back guarantee removes almost all the risk of trying it. If value and ease of use matter most to you, CyberGhost is well worth a look.
