Supermetrics review: Starter is $39/mo billed yearly for 2 sources and 2 accounts each. AI chat destinations, Studio, hidden limits, the 8% renewal clause and cheaper rivals.
For most of its life Supermetrics was the add-on you installed when copying Facebook Ads numbers into Google Sheets every Monday got old. It still does that. But the pricing page now lists ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot as "core destinations" on the same line as Looker Studio, Google Sheets, Excel and Power BI. Pick ChatGPT and your ad accounts become something you can question in a chat window instead of a spreadsheet you have to build first.
That is the real pitch in late 2026: a marketer asks Claude why cost per acquisition rose on Meta last month, and the answer is drawn from live campaign data rather than a CSV someone exported on Friday. Behind it sit the same connectors the Helsinki company has been building since its founder started on the Google Analytics API in 2009 - Wikipedia puts the count at over 150 sources, from Google Ads and GA4 to LinkedIn, TikTok, Shopify and Salesforce.
The catch is the price of entry. Each self-serve plan includes exactly one of those destinations, and the cheapest plan is built around a team of one with very few accounts.
Checked on the pricing page on 20 October 2026. Every figure is per month in US dollars.
| Starter | Growth | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Billed yearly | $39 | $159 | Quote |
| Billed monthly | $49 | $199 | Quote |
| Core destinations | 1 | 1 | Core plus BigQuery, Snowflake |
| Data sources | 2 | 7 | Custom |
| Accounts per source | 2 | 7 | Custom |
| Users | 1 | 2 | Custom |
| AI credits per month | 4,000 | 12,000 | Custom |
An "account" is narrower than it sounds. Supermetrics' own definition: on Facebook Ads it is one ad account, on Google Analytics it is one view. So a freelancer running Meta, Google Ads and GA4 for three clients has already outgrown Starter on day one.
Add-ons fill the gap, slowly. On Starter an extra source costs $29 billed yearly ($37 monthly) and caps at three in total; extra accounts are $10 yearly ($13 monthly), also capped at three; a second destination is $49 yearly ($62 monthly). There is no way to add a second user - Starter stays a one-person licence. Want Sheets for reporting and ChatGPT for questions? That is $88 a month on an annual contract before you have added a third source.
Growth is where Supermetrics wants agencies, and its add-ons are steeper: another destination is $149 yearly ($187 monthly), another user $99 yearly ($124 monthly), with a ceiling of five users and 20 accounts per source. The page prices Growth's yearly source add-on in euros (EUR 29) while everything around it is in dollars, which tells you how often that line gets read.
The good part: plans are fixed price. Supermetrics does not bill for data volume, and the only metered element is AI credits, which are consumed by Studio. The 14-day trial asks for no card and simply ends; nothing needs cancelling.
Studio launched on 13 July 2026. It is a dashboard workspace where boards built from your Supermetrics data in Claude or ChatGPT keep running on live data rather than freezing as a chat transcript. A board can be generated from a written prompt, or from a screenshot of an existing dashboard you want rebuilt. The October update added comments, snapshots, boards built from files and a migration path for Looker Studio reports.
Two things the launch post is quieter about. Editing boards needs a separate Studio destination licence, so Studio is your one included destination or a paid extra. And Studio is where AI credits get spent - 4,000 a month on Starter, 12,000 on Growth - with no published figure for how many credits a board or a question costs.
The Supermetrics MCP server is the other half. The October 2026 release made a set of marketing utilities in it free with no subscription, and it can now manage campaigns, not just read them: the home page shows ChatGPT creating a ChatGPT Ads campaign, and Snapchat Ads campaign management arrived in the same update. A beta Client Account Isolation feature, aimed at agencies keeping client data apart, and a Bluesky connector shipped alongside.
The help centre carries the numbers that decide whether a Sheets setup survives contact with a real reporting calendar.
Scheduled refreshes in Google Sheets are capped at five per file, hard. Supermetrics also advises keeping an account below 50 scheduled refreshes in total and warns that 100 or more can make them fail. Your plan sets whether those refreshes run weekly, daily or hourly, but which plan gets which frequency is not published anywhere we could find - ask during the trial. Google adds its own ceiling of six minutes of scheduled runs per hour per account, though Supermetrics says its enhanced refreshes are exempt. Partial results in a sheet usually mean the query's row limit is set too low, not missing data.
History is generous on the core destinations: as far back as each platform's API allows, so Google Ads goes to account lifetime while Search Console stops at 16 months. Warehouse and data lake subscriptions are the exception, capped at two years unless you pay to extend it. And warehouses themselves - BigQuery, Snowflake - appear only on Enterprise. A team that wants raw marketing data in its own warehouse cannot buy that self-serve at any price.
The terms of service let Supermetrics charge for use beyond its Fair Usage Policy "at the then current rate". The thresholds in that policy are not printed on the pricing page or in the terms.
This is the section to read before signing an annual contract. The terms, updated 3 March 2026, reserve the right to raise fees by 8% at each renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and an unpaid invoice does not count as cancelling. Cancel mid-term and the remaining days are not refunded; some agreements carry a minimum notice period on top.
Trustpilot is where that bites. Supermetrics scores 1.5 there, from only 31 reviews, so treat it as a signal rather than a verdict - but the complaints cluster on billing, not on data quality. One reviewer in October 2026: "Our contract auto renews unless you cancel 60 days before the end date. In two years we never got a single reminder." Another, in April, described new pricing packages "that meant 3x the cost" for their setup. Put the renewal date in your own calendar 90 days out.
Supermetrics is governed by Finnish law, and it has no obligation to keep your personal data after the agreement ends. Since it moves data rather than storing it on the core plans, the practical exit is simple: your Sheets and Looker Studio reports keep their last-pulled numbers, they just stop refreshing.
| Tool | Entry price | What you get at entry |
|---|---|---|
| Supermetrics Starter | $39/mo yearly, $49 monthly | 2 sources, 2 accounts each, 1 user, 1 destination |
| Windsor.ai Basic | $19/mo yearly, $23 monthly | 3 sources, 75 accounts, unlimited users |
| Coupler.io Starter | $24/mo yearly, $32 monthly | 3 accounts, 1 destination, daily refresh, 5,000 rows per run |
| Porter Metrics | $12.50 per account, billed yearly | Looker Studio-focused, 14-day trial |
| Funnel | From $300/mo, billed yearly | Warehouse-first data hub, 30-day trial |
Prices checked on each vendor's pricing page on 20 October 2026. Windsor.ai is the sharpest contrast: about half the price of Supermetrics Starter, 75 accounts against Starter's two per source, and no seat limit, though without the AI chat and Studio layer. If what you actually need is client-ready dashboards rather than raw data, our AgencyAnalytics review and Databox review cover that end of the market.
Buy Supermetrics if you are an in-house marketer or a small team with a handful of sources who wants them in Sheets, Looker Studio or straight inside ChatGPT or Claude, with no engineer involved. The connectors are mature, pricing does not punish data volume, and ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot come as destinations on the entry plan rather than as an enterprise extra.
Skip it if you are an agency counting client ad accounts. Two accounts per source on Starter and seven on Growth turn every new client into an add-on, and Windsor.ai's $19 Basic plan covers 75 accounts with unlimited users. Skip it too if you want data in your own warehouse - that is Enterprise-only here, and Funnel quotes it openly from $300 a month. Whichever way you go, run the free 14-day trial against your real account count, and diarise the renewal: the 8% clause and auto-renewal are where the unhappy reviews come from.
