Unbounce review: plans from $22 to $187 a month cap visitors, not pages. We weigh Smart Traffic's 30% claim, the overage model, seat limits and user complaints.
Unbounce charges you for traffic, not for pages. Every plan above the entry tier promises unlimited landing pages and unlimited conversions, then caps the number of visitors those pages may receive in a month. That single design choice decides whether it is a good buy for you far more than any template or AI feature does.
The product itself is mature. Unbounce was founded in Vancouver in 2009 by Rick Perreault, Oli Gardner and a handful of co-founders, and it has been selling a drag-and-drop landing page builder since 2010. It is also no longer an independent company. Denver private equity firm Crest Rock Partners took majority ownership in a $52 million deal in June 2020, and in July 2024 it merged Unbounce with Insightly, a California CRM it also owns. The combined business has 200+ employees.

Prices below were checked on unbounce.com/pricing on September 23, 2026. Annual billing saves 25%.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Pages | Visits / month | Users | Domains |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29 | $22 | 5 | 500 | 1 | 1 |
| Build | $99 | $74 | Unlimited | 20,000 | 1 | 1 |
| Experiment | $149 | $112 | Unlimited | 30,000 | 3 | 2 |
| Optimize | $249 | $187 | Unlimited | 50,000 | 5 | 3 |
| Concierge & Agency | Custom quote | Unlimited | 50,000–100,000+ | 5–15+ | 5–10+ | |
Read the Starter row twice. Five hundred visits a month is roughly 16 a day. A single Google Ads campaign with a modest budget will blow through that in a week, so Starter is really a trial that happens to cost money. The realistic entry point is Build at $74 to $99 a month.
What happens when you go over is the part the pricing page does not spell out. Unbounce does not switch your pages off; it bills overage in blocks of extra visits, reportedly around $80 per additional 10,000 (we could not open Unbounce's help documentation to confirm the figure, so treat it as approximate). This is the "unlimited" with a fair-use clause attached. Leadpages, the most direct rival, does not cap visitors on any plan at all.
The seat count bites too. Starter and Build allow one user. If a freelancer and a client both need to log in, you are on Experiment at $112 a month minimum, and two domains is its ceiling. Every plan comes with a 14-day free trial, and no card is required to start it.
Smart Traffic is the feature Unbounce sells hardest. Instead of a classic A/B test that splits visitors 50/50 until one variant wins, it looks at each visitor's attributes (device, location, browser and so on) and routes them to whichever variant has converted best for people like them.

Unbounce's product page says Smart Traffic users "get 30% more sales and signups (on average)." The footnote matters: that average comes from Unbounce's own customer data collected between January and December 2020. It is a vendor figure, six years old, with no published methodology. It may well be true for the kind of paid-traffic pages that dominate Unbounce's customer base; it tells you nothing about a page with three variants and 2,000 visits a month.
And there is the tension. Smart Traffic learns faster with more traffic, and more traffic is exactly what the visit cap charges you for. The full "AI traffic optimization" package sits on Optimize at $187 a month or more, where the cap is 50,000 visits. Anyone running enough volume for the routing to pay off is also the customer most likely to see overage bills.
The classic builder is freeform: you drag elements anywhere on the canvas rather than into a fixed grid. That gives designers pixel control and gives everyone else an extra job, because the mobile layout is edited separately and it is easy to ship a desktop page that falls apart on a phone. Every plan includes 100+ templates and free hosting on your own domain.

AI copywriting (Smart Copy) is included from Build upward. Starter does not get it.
Integrations are where Unbounce's age shows as an advantage. The integrations page lists 30+ built-in connections, among them Salesforce, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Marketo, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and Hotjar, plus Zapier for 5,000+ other apps. Insightly CRM now appears at the top of that list, which is the merger showing through. Native connections to ChatGPT and Claude are also listed.

Unbounce's standing on public review sites has slipped since the Insightly merger. Trustpilot reviews skew heavily negative, and the recurring complaints are consistent: price increases at renewal that customers say arrived with little warning, a no-refund policy on annual plans, and slower support replies than they were used to. Some reviewers also describe the builder as sluggish on long pages. We have not verified individual cases, but the pattern repeats often enough to plan around. If you buy, buy monthly first.
One question we could not answer from public material is how complete an export is if you leave. Unbounce pages are hosted by Unbounce; before committing a large campaign library, ask support in writing what you can take with you.
Buy Unbounce if you run paid campaigns, test several variants per page and send between 5,000 and 50,000 visits a month through them. At that volume, Smart Traffic and the integrations list earn the $74 to $187 monthly fee, and the freeform builder gives a designer the control templates-first tools do not.
Skip it if your traffic is organic, spiky or large. A page that goes viral turns into an overage bill here. Leadpages does not meter visitors at all and costs less. If you mostly need a sales funnel with checkout attached, ClickFunnels bundles that in. And if you are a solo operator who would sit on Starter, 500 visits a month is not a landing page plan.
Start the 14-day trial, connect your real ad traffic, and watch the visit counter before you pay for a year.
