Apple has sold a smart-home platform for years without a screen to run it from. That changed on October 13, 2026, at its "Welcome Home" event in New York, where Apple introduced HomeView, a 7-inch display for the kitchen counter or the wall. It costs $299 and ships November 13.
HomeView is also where Siri AI, Apple's rebuilt assistant, makes its debut. The same event brought a new Apple TV 4K, a second-generation HomePod mini and the Apple Home Collection, a line of cameras, locks and thermostats that LG and Schneider Electric build and sell under Apple's banner. Four product lines in one afternoon.
Inside is the A18 chip; the Liquid Retina panel runs from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits. Two full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer and two passive radiators handle sound, and HomeView joins HomePod and AirPlay speakers for multiroom audio.
Apple calls Siri AI an entirely new version of Siri. It holds a conversation, carries broad world knowledge, sees what is on screen and can draw on personal context. Conversations sync through iCloud to your other devices.

Two qualifiers matter more than the feature list. It ships as a beta, in HomeView software 27.2. And the personal part depends on the phone in your pocket: requests that use your own data need a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad on the latest software, while the customizable voices need an iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro or an M4-or-later iPad with at least 12GB of unified memory. A household on older iPhones gets a general-knowledge Siri, not the one Apple demoed.
At launch it speaks English only; Canadian French is promised in a later update.
HomeView recognizes up to six people by face and gives each one their own Home Screen, with content from Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders and Find My. For the most personal data Apple added a second check: Messages and Calendar appear only when an enrolled person is recognized and their paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and was recently unlocked.

Camera and microphone data are processed in Secure Exclaves, compartmentalized runtimes that Apple says HomeView's own software, apps, the user and Apple itself cannot access. Siri requests run on the device or on Private Cloud Compute. These are Apple's claims, not independently audited ones.
Pre-orders opened on October 13; Singapore follows on October 15 at 9 a.m. SGT. Ship dates differ by product. U.S. list prices below were checked on Apple Newsroom on October 14, 2026.

| HomeView, wall-mounted (space gray, silver) | $299, plus a mount | November 13, 2026 |
| Schneider Home Power Mount | USB-C Wall Connector from $59.95 · AC Wired from $79.95 · PoE Wired $129.95 | PoE in early 2027 |

Price the wall version carefully. The display is $299 either way, but it cannot hang without a Schneider Home Power Mount, so the cheapest wall install is $358.95 with the USB-C connector, $378.95 wired to mains power, and $428.95 with Power over Ethernet - a mount that does not ship until early 2027.

HomeView sells in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore and South Africa, the last through Apple Authorized Resellers. It is not launching in the European Union. Apple's only stated reason is that Siri AI is unavailable in iOS there.
The accessories are what change the most for other companies. Apple did not build its own doorbell; LG and Schneider Electric did, and they sell it under the Apple Home Collection name.

Every device speaks Matter and Thread, keeps its core functions running with the internet down, and sets up with one NFC tap from an iPhone: no LG app, no Schneider account. Apple says footage and Home data are end-to-end encrypted and never accessible to LG, Schneider or Apple. HomeView's Home Camera face streams up to nine of them at once.
Recorded video costs extra, which the price tags leave out. HomeKit Secure Video keeps 10 days of encrypted footage and is tied to iCloud+: the 50GB plan covers one camera, 200GB covers five, and 2TB is unlimited. A doorbell plus a single indoor camera already pushes a 50GB subscriber up a tier. Cameras sell in the U.S., Canada and UK, the lock only in the U.S. and Canada, and ADT offers professional installation in the U.S.
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K moves to the A19 chip, which Apple rates at up to 50% faster on the CPU and 2x on the GPU against the previous model. It adds a dedicated AV1 decoder, three far-field microphones so Siri works without the remote, and full-screen Siri AI.
The price is the story. At $299 it costs more than twice the $129 it launched at in 2022, and $100 more than the $199 Apple moved it to in June 2026, Popular Science reports. Google's TV Streamer is $149.99. Pure streamers now pay for a home hub they may never use.

The HomePod mini 2 costs $149 and ships first, on October 30. It moves to the S10 chip, gains a "Sound Glow" top that pulses with the music and can join the new Apple TV for four-speaker surround. Siri AI is not on it at launch. Apple says it comes later in a free software update.

For accessory makers the before and after is plain. Before October 13, a HomeKit camera competed with Ring and Nest for a place in an Apple household. Now Apple promotes a doorbell, lock and thermostat with its own name on them, one-tap setup and no companion app, on a display it sells itself. Matter keeps third-party devices working, but they now share the shelf with Apple's picks.
Buy HomeView if your home already runs on HomeKit or Matter, the household carries recent iPhones, and you live in one of the eight launch countries. Skip it if the family is on older iPhones, because the personal Siri AI features will not work for them, or if you live in the EU, where it is not sold at all. If all you want is a kitchen screen with timers and a camera feed, an Echo Show or Nest Hub does that today for less than $299.
HomePod mini 2 ships October 30, HomeView and Apple TV 4K on November 13, and the Home Collection from December. The open questions: how long Siri AI stays in beta, when it reaches HomePod mini 2, and whether Apple says more about the EU.
